New cigar from famous brand Romeo y Julieta will be release this year by Altadis U.S.A. Inc. with unusual kind of wrapper. The cigar is Romeo y Julieta 1875 Connecticut – Nicaragua.

The wrapper used Connecticut seed grown under shade in Esteli, Nicaragua by the Plasencia family. This is the expansion of the premium cigar line from Altadis U.S.A. Inc.

Connecticut-seed tobacco that use in this Romeo y Julieta 1875 Connecticut – Nicaragua grows in Plasencia in the different strains of Connecticut-seed tobacco for the mass market.

It is the first premium brand use this varietal of Nicaraguan grown Connecticut seed cover leaf which is cultivated under tents of cheesecloth to filter the sun rays.

Same method used to grow Connecticut shade in the microclimate of the Connecticut River Valley. Plasencia has been growing the Connecticut-seed wrapper in Nicaragua for a few years under experimental basis.

This Romeo y Julieta 1875 Connecticut – Nicaragua also collaborate with cigar-maker and tobacco grower Nestor Andrés Plasencia and Rafael Nodal, head of product capability for Altadis’ parent company of Tabacalera USA.

Romeo y Julieta 1875 Connecticut – Nicaragua cigar comes in four sizes: Bully, 5 inches by 50 ring gauge; Toro, 6 by 52; Churchill, 7 by 50; and Magnum, 6 by 60.  All come in boxes of 25 except the Magnum, which comes in a 20-count format.
